August 30: Ibushi wrestled at NOAH Shiny Navigation ’08 , tag teaming with Katsuhiko Nakajima. They defeat the team of KENTA & Taiji Ishimori.
August 31: DDT Summer Vacation Memories at Korakuen Hall in Tokyo.
Ibushi had a big match challenging Dick Togo for his KO-D Openweight title.
Kenny’s match was against HARASHIMA. Spoiler: he won. Which was a nice gesture from DDT, since this was his last match scheduled for them at the time.
At this point I don’t think he assumed he would necessarily be invited back to DDT, and he bows nicely after the match and gives a short speech to the fans, stating “Korakuen Hall, DDT, DDT fans, This is my dream. And my dream has come true. For you fans, I gave 100%, I gave everything in every match I had in DDT. If there’s one thing you deserve, it’s a rematch. Hopefully, sometimes in this year, or maybe in next year, you can see me again.”
He left to fans chanting “Please come back!”
He was booked to spend September 2008 in New Jersey wrestling for JAPW.
