August 2: Nakazawa and Omega wander around Kagurazaka. In Nakazawa’s blog he states: “We charged Kenny’s cell phone at a Softbank store, went to Mugimaru bun café to play with cats, and went to Sanpo for yakiniku (grilled meat). Mugimaru seemed to be quite popular. At Sanpo, Kenny bought me a drink this time because I bought one last time.”
August 3rd the annual Beer Garden shows begin, and Ibushi is in a cosplay match. He wears a wedding dress.
He whips out a mic and claims he is the best cosplayer in the wrestling world. I agree.
Kenny was in the 4th match of the evening, tag teaming with HARASHIMA against Yukihiro Abe and Keisuke Ishii.
August 5: Ibushi is in the beer garden show for this day without Kenny. Instead he tag teams with Michael Nakazawa against Dino and Muscle Sakai. The rules for this match are quite the thing. Anyone waiting to be tagged in will have to wait outside the ring with someone named “Mistress SM.” This mistress would also dole out punishment to the man waiting outside the ring with her, whenever his tag partner was unsuccessful in his attempts to pin his opponent. “The winner of this match will have the right to blow up the anus of any person in the venue, including the 600 guests in attendance today. If the match was not decided in 15 minutes…Michael’s anus would be blown up. And the match will continue as is.” Fun.
August 7: Kenny is in a Rock N Roll Death match with A. Yazawa. He would find himself in this same exact match against the same opponent a few years later when he has the Extreme title. The 2013 version is posted on the DDT site, but the 2009 one is not as of this writing, and only photos exist. The rules of this match are that music hits at random times throughout, at which point both men must stop whatever they’re doing and bust out dancing until the music ceases. Each man was allowed to select one of the songs that will be played. According to Griffon, at one point they break into some ballet inspired moves.
Mike Angels comes out at the end and tells Omega that he came to Japan just to defeat him. Kenny agrees, and it is declared that at the next show the Golden Lovers will face Mike Angels and Madoka. Yazawa and Omega end the show by dancing, with Kenny demanding to hear Rock N’ Roll instead of his theme music.
August 8: Kenny Produce Day! This is day 6 of DDT’s series of beer garden shows. 388 people filled the room. According to Referee Matsui, “Although it was not as good as Male Day, overcrowded customers gathered.”
Kenny gives the opening address to the audience, with Michael translating for him.
“Thank you all for coming today! It’s a lot of fun to be here in DDT, where the crowd is always full. What’s even more exciting is to see how everyone is going out, not only here in Shinkiba. This is my first show that I am producing. I’m sure everyone will have a great time when this show is over. It seems like a long time ago, but in fact, it was only a year ago in the beer garden that I came up to DDT. Takagi-san and everyone else gave me a chance, and instead of DDT giving me a chance, now I’m going to be the producer of the match today.
I wanted to give everyone a chance to show something new.
I want everyone competing today to have one thing in mind, and that is to entertain you. Tonight we have some fun matches that you may only see once. I hope you enjoy it.”
The show’s main event is Golden Lovers versus Mike Angels and Madoka Mike.
The match goes outside for a bit, and the Golden Lovers do various crazy synchronous moves, including a Golden Shower off a vending machine.
Golden Lovers take the win.
“At the end, Kenny and Ibushi dropped a golden shower from the top of his vending machine and counted 3 from the microphone” reports Matsui.
Kenny closes the show with another speech.
August 9: More Beer Garden.
Omega and Mike Angels work together this time in a six-man tag match.
You can see Omega’s thigh is still taped up from his antics the day before.
Ibushi had his own match tagging with Keisuke Ishii against HARASHIMA and Yukihiro Abe.
He puts Abe in a hold and feeds him shaved ice he obtained from one of the beer garden food tents.
He is challenged by HARASHIMA at the end of his match, to find out who is the better wrestler at the Ryogoku show. Ibushi agrees to the match.
August 11: Per Nakazawa’s blog post from that day:
“The four of us (Mike, Kenny, Ibushi, and myself) go to Ikebukuro to relax. We went to Seven, a bar owned by a friend of mine, and had a game and karaoke contest while eating and drinking. Thank you, mama-san, for always serving us delicious food. By the way, the game we played was Tatsunoko vs. Capcom. Mom said she’s been playing Siren 3 lately. Kenny looked like he wanted to play it, but it’s probably not out in North America. Too bad.
The four of them were in a heated battle for a while…. They all played well. I knew Kenny liked games, but Mike also seemed to play a lot of games, which was surprising. He even volunteered to sing a lot of karaoke. Not to match his appearance? I think he sang a lot of rather cute songs.
By the way, Ibushi was also singing karaoke today, which was rare for him. He is a good singer, so he should always sing more. And this time, he sang Blue Hearts….I sang “Air Man Can’t Be Defeated” for fun, and sure enough, Kenny, who loves Mega Man, was happy.”
August 12:
Nakazawa: “I met up with Ibushi at noon to practice at the OPG dojo. As soon as we got there, the heat was so intense that we felt like we were going to lose heart. However, we managed to stay in the heat with the help of ice cream and ice water, and practiced hard…..Today we practiced some techniques and movements that I don’t usually do, and I think it was quite good practice…I think.”
Kenny and Mike Angels go to a dinner and eat Korean food with another friend named Jason Geiger.
August 14th Ibushi participates in a press conference at Midbreath Gym. He is asked by the audience who the biggest perv in DDT is. He answers “Mr. Nakazawa.” He is also asked if Michael is the interpreter between he and Kenny. He answers “Sometimes we don’t understand each other. I don’t understand English, so I don’t know if I’m getting through to him…
Ibushi also describes a time as a child when he launched himself off the school assembly table and broke all of his right side ribs.
August 15th was some kind of special show at the Keio Kaku Bicycle Racetrack. Sounds like Dino and HARASHIMA were in a tag match with the Golden Lovers, who do a “snowfall type combined tombstone pile” they debut that day.
August 18th Nakazawa: “met Kenny for training at Midbreath. After that, we invited Kenny to our house for dinner. My wife made him a smoked salmon salad, which she thought was “Canadian food”. So today, we went shopping together to an outlet store in Iruma City….He also bought gifts for his sister and his mother whose birthday was this month. Hmmm, nice guy….Kenny went to his usual client’s store, and I had to go to the office, so we parted at Ikebukuro. Before that, Kenny went to a flower shop to buy some flowers. He looks like a stupid foreigner in the picture, but he is still a nice guy.
Speaking of which, we are going to have a Kenny Omega Night at Dropkick tomorrow. It will start at 7pm and go until a reasonable time.
I’m wondering what kind of event it will be this time, taking into consideration the fact that there were too many dirty jokes in the last event. I’ll be there as an interpreter, so don’t worry if you don’t speak English.”
The event Nakazawa speaks of was at a bar called Dropkick. Kenny spent the night visiting with fans and tending bar. His friends Jason Geiger and Mike Angels were in attendance, though Kenny himself showed up late. Nakazawa was there as interpreter for Omega and Angels.
Kenny’s ‘Canadian waffle’ drink is made with maple syrup, Kahlua, coffee and alcohol. He serves it with a side of cookies.
Fans are allowed to ask Angels and Omega questions. Among the most interesting are:

A: Kenny: I was 16. We passed each other in the hallway one year younger than the other at the same school. Kenny confessed to her and asked her to a wrestling show, but Kenny was on the ring setup side, not in the match.
Kenny closed the night with the following heartfelt statement: “I want to celebrate the fact that we are friends and that we are all here in one place. Every time we do a Kenny Omega night, I’m so happy to see so many fans come out like this. Not only that many people show up, but I am very happy to know that they are still supporting me as they have been for the past year.” He had to cut his time in Japan short this visit for an ROH taping, which he was quite sad about.
August 23: Ryogoku Peter Pan. Kenny and his Canadian pal Mike Angels participate in a four-way tag elimination match against the teams of KUDO & Yasu Urano, Francesco Togo & PIZA Michinoku (the current tag champs), and Jun Kasai & MIKAMI.
Given this is a rare appearance in DDT for Angels, he and Kenny don’t get the titles of course, that honor goes to Kudo and Urano.

Ibushi got to challenge HARASHIMA for his KO-D Openweight title.
The next day, Kenny, Kota, HARASHIMA, and Michael go out to dinner with Mike Angels as a farewell to him before he returns to Canada.
August 26: The Golden Lovers and Nakazawa spend a chill day at the pool and the beach by the sea, where they brainbuster Nakazawa in the sand.
August 28: Sportiva It’s Friday Pro Tag League Match !! – Omega and Xevious defeat Mammoth Handa and Shigehiro Irie.
Ibushi attended a press conference for DDT’s annual New Year’s Eve show, which would be a collaborative show between DDT and promotions K-Dojo and BJW.
He also goes to Dropkick bar and serves drinks, just like Kenny did on Kenny Night.
Ibushi’s drinks are as crazy as he is. He’ll mix disgusting things together and urge people to drink, or strive to achieve a certain color, completely ignoring flavor.
Of course, Nakazawa sets fireworks off in his ass right in the bar.
August 30: Sanshiro Takagi, Yusuke Inokuma and Omega team up for a six-man tag match of some sort. Its difficult to decipher (from here) what all went on when translating to English. Much of it doesn’t make much sense. I only know that Kenny’s team won.
He also is an anonymous Gaijin again for a different segment. He and Angels were both “Gaijin A, evil weird Gaijins with their faces taped.
August 31: Ibushi was in a random video where he is an office boy that gets yanked into a closet by some creepy hands. This video gets periodically put up and taken down again.
Kenny’s DDT Non-fix match was against Masa Takanashi.
