Kota’s schedule is jam-packed with DDT shows this month, mostly consisting of tag team matches, though he has one singles title match against Yoshihiko to close out the month. Omega’s stint for DDT was over for a while. He had a string of shows to do for ROH, mostly travelling around the Midwest and east coast, though he does make a brief stop in Canada to make an appearance at one PCW show.

On October 4th, Ibushi participates in DDT’s cruiser show in a fatal 3-way tag match, with the teams coming to a time-limit draw.

Meanwhile, Omega is in the U.S., wrestling in ROH’s Clash of the Contenders in Illinois, in a one-on-one match against Davey Richards. He cuts a promo prior to the show, sporting super blonde spiral curls and a black eye.

At one point in this match he does an Ibushi-style moonsault. A tribute to his friend he left back in Japan.

October 11th Ibushi was in a trios tag team with Hikaru Sato and Tanomusaku Toba against Danshoku DinoMasa Takanashi and Yoshihiko. Referee Matsui stated, “the avalanche type brain buster that Yoshihiko showed for the first time was intense and matchless.” Ultimately, Ibushi’s team is defeated, but he still manages to close out the show with a few backflips and a brief word of thanks to the crowd for attending.

Ibushi then wrestles in New Japan’s Masahiro Chono’s 25th Anniversary pay-per-view event in front of a packed audience. Ibushi, Ken Oya, and Michael Nakazawa all were treated to a nice dinner after the show by a wrestling sponsor.

A few days later Ibushi participates in “TRASH.4” Yokohama Bay Jungle Tournament, in a tag team with Michael Nakazawa versus Danshoku Dino and Masa Takanashi. Dino was really on a rampage during this show, first looking through the crowd for victims to kiss, then ultimately seizing the opportunity to grope Ibushi – giving him a prolonged and thorough molestation on the floor.

In Welcome to Neverland, Ibushi is in a title vs title match for his KO-D title and opponent Yoshihiko’s Ironman Heavy Metal Championship.

Ibushi manages to defeat Yoshihiko, maintaining his title and earning the Ironman Heavy Metal Championship. However, when Ibushi goes to give Yoshihiko a good natured hug at the end of the match, sneaky Yoshihiko flips him into a pin, winning the Ironman Heavy Metal Championship back once again. For anyone unfamiliar, this is a comedy title that has been held by invisible people, inanimate objects, animals, the title itself, and has had (as of this writing) over 1500 title holders since its creation in 2000. For more info on the history of this hilarious belt, go HERE and read up. Probably it was more appropriate in Yoshihiko’s hands anyway.

At the end of the match, Ibushi reads his promo from a slip of paper, which sounds like an awkward dating site profile: “I am a mischievous and chatty 21 year old from Kagoshima, Japan. I don’t have any friends since I came to Tokyo, so please send me more emails. If you have any pictures, please send them to me.” He then does his usual backflips to close the show.

Ibushi had this to say after the match:

“I was the strongest challenger. I was able to do various things, but Yoshihiko’s I didn’t have to put out all my strength. It doesn’t have to be immediate, so if I have a chance to do it.
At the time of the game, I always look at the other person’s facial expressions and think about the next technique, but since I was really expressionless, I couldn’t understand at all. The last one has become very emotional. After all, I think it was good because I was able to put out various techniques at the end of playing professional wrestling.
(Omitted) I’m very happy to be able to fight Yoshihiko in the main. Because what I had longed for came true. “
