Here is Ibushi, showing off one of his new merch shirt designs at the DDT office:

After wrapping up his series of March matches for ROH, Kenny makes his way back to Japan for the month of April, so he can work shows for NJPW, DDT, and other freelance promotions. Though he is spending longer and longer stretches of time in Japan, he still does quite a bit of traveling between Japan, Canada, and the U.S. at this point. Shortly after his return, Ref Matsui catches him screwing around on the DDT office computer and snaps a pic.

After a month apart, the Golden Lovers have been reunited! And hugging each other way more than was necessary, in Matsui’s opinion.

April 4: Ibushi’s return match after his break from wrestling was against Gedo at DDT’s FACE.

Though he takes a bit of a beating, Ibushi fairs very well and defeats Gedo.

After the show’s main event – Sekimoto vs Takanashi – Ibushi is nominated by Mr. Sekimoto as his next challenger, and he willingly accepts:
“I have not had a single with Sekimoto so far. The main [event] was interesting. I thought it was amazing. I wrestled a better match and got a belt. I’m going home. Sekimoto has a lot of power. But when I do professional wrestling, I’m a power fighter, so I can’t lose. I think HARASHIMA is more suitable as a challenger, but I’ve been nominated, so I’ll do it. Then, challenge the belt and get the belt. “

Kenny had a rather strange six-man match of his own, coming out to the ring blindfolded, hair in full floof mode, and going by the last name “Aznable.” He and teammates Nakazawa and Yoshiaki Yago defeat opponents DJ Nira, Sanshiro Takagi and Tomomitsu Matsunaga in just over 8 minutes of shenanigans.

After the FACE show , Kenny visits Midbreath Gym to do a little working out.

April 11th Ibushi participates in a boxing style tag match with Seiji Takeda, calling themselves STYLE-E. Their opponents were Tanomsaku Toba and Munenori Sawa, a duo also known as the Fighting Detective Team Butlers – a tag name that, if correctly translated, I can’t help but love.
Here are a few pics courtesy of Extreme Party’s blog archive of Ibushi and his opponent beating the shit out of each other:

Kenny was in a tag team of his own at DD’s Cruisers Game 9, partnering with Yukihiro Abe. They lose to their opponents, GENTARO and Onryo.

April 17th, Kenny goes over to Nakazawa’s house for dinner. Kenny had recently been complaining that he had been stuck eating only convenience store food, so Nakazawa’s wife offered to cook for him. While there, Nakazawa teaches Kenny some more Japanese.
The next day, DDT holds a bamboo shoot picking and barbeque party. It was Kenny’s first time picking bamboo shoots, and he seems to have enjoyed himself.

April 20th the GL have a very cool match against Gedo and Dick Togo at NJPW’s New Japan Brave. They showcase some of their stellar wrestling soulmate type sequences, and leave the arena with a win!
DDT Non-Fix took place on April 21, and featured Antonio Honda, Francesco Togo and Sasaki and Gabbana against Kenny Omega, Kota Ibushi and KUDO in a six-man tag team match. Here are a few photos from that event:

April 23rd The Cool Body magazine Ibushi had posed for back in March was released for sale in bookstores and at Midbreath gym. Here’s a pic of the cover:

Kenny seems very proud of Ibushi’s accomplishment – here he is at Midbreath Gym, posing with a copy of the magazine.
