Kenny and Nakazawa get dinner and drinks. Kenny purchased Nakazawa’s drink for him, and when Nak asks why, thinking it is perhaps an expression of gratitude for the t-shirts he helped Kenny design, Kenny simply tells him it is for being a good friend. Aw…
A couple days later, Nakazawa accompanies Kenny to Dropkick sports bar in Kabukicho, Shinjuku, where Kenny was to spend the evening acting as a host, serving drinks and playing games with fans.
Kenny encourages people to buy his shirts, and makes a drink for guests he calls the Golden Shower, in honor of the Golden Lovers’ signature tag team move. The drink is bright yellow (of course) and consists of vodka, lemon juice, lime syrup, and banana liqueur mixed with soda water. It was reportedly quite sweet. 🙂

Kenny writes out the bar menu for the night, as the factory wrestling show DDT had done recently plays on the bar TV.

At 9pm, a trivia game begins called “Get to Know Kenny”, in which people guess the answers to various facts about Kenny. The answer to “what is Kenny’s favorite thing?” was “a love hotel.”
Wrestler Necro Butcher happened to be in town for an upcoming wrestling tournament and stopped by the event to visit with Kenny and drink rum and cokes.

May 4th is DDT’s Max Bump event.

Kenny and Tomomitsu Matsunaga defeat Poison Sawada JULIE and Tiger Toguchi in just under 9 minutes. I am uncertain as to the the cause of the hostility between the two men, but Kenny and Toguchi seem to not be fans of each other:

Kenny rolls up Poison Sawada JULIE into a nice little pin:

Ibushi has a title match for the KO-D Openweight title against Daisuke Sekimoto, the current champ. A promo plays for the audience during the show to hype the match.

Alas, Ibushi does not win this one. But he looks damn good wearing his own shirt:

May 5th, a mere day after Max Bump, the DDT roster travels to Aichi for a house show. Kenny has a singles match against the multi-talented Yoshihiko!

(The following slideshow of photos are from here)

Though Yoshihiko puts up a valiant and, at times, ruthless fight, even losing a face in the process…

Yoshihiko ultimately loses to Omega. That’s ok. Always a next time. The two opponents seem to leave the match still friends, which is what counts.

Meanwhile, Ibushi is partnered with HARASHIMA in a tag match against Dick Togo and Sanshiro Takagi.

Kenny seems to end the full exhausting day with some friends, and doing bar karaoke. Here he is, wholesomely singing a Metallica song:

Kenny leaves Japan to head to Canada for a series of CWE shows in Manitoba, still a bit banged up from the beating he received from Yoshihiko.

May 8th Ibushi participates in New Japan’s Super Junior tournament, tag teaming with Austin Creed (aka Xavier Woods), future gamer friend of Omega. They lose to Gedo and KUSHIDA. Ibushi makes a face after the show, and I’m uncertain what he means when he tells Matsui about working with Creed: “I’m sorry, I cheated on him…I’ve been unfaithful.” I’m unsure what happened in this match to make Ibushi feel unfaithful. That was the first and last time he has ever tagged with Creed/Woods.

May 29th, Kenny returns to Japan from Canada in time for King of DDT 2010. According to Matsui: “We met up at the office, did some stuff, and then moved to Omori together. We went to Goro’s Tonkatsu (pork cutlet) restaurant, which we hadn’t visited in a while, and were treated to Tonkatsu. Kenny enjoyed it and was in a good mood!”

He spends time at Midbreath Gym, getting himself in shape for the upcoming NJPW Best of Super Junior tournament in June.

May 30th: The Golden Lovers are together in a twelve-man tag match at King of DDT 2010. I won’t bother to list all involved in that match, because its half the DDT roster. I do like that the Lovers manage to celebrate their team’s win by standing next to each other and holding hands at the end. Seems a fitting way to end the month of May.
